What is medical coding?

Medical coding is the transcription of diagnosis, procedures, and medical equipment into an alphanumeric code.

The alphanumeric code is then sent to the insurance companies (Medicare, Medicaid, and third party payers)

What is a Certified Professional Coder (CPC)?

A Certified Professional Coder reviews clinical documentation and translates medical procedures, diagnosis, supplies, and services into codes that are submitted on a medical claim to payers for reimbursement.

Are the courses offered online or in person?

We currently do not have an in person option for the individual medical coding classes.

All classes are taught online through a Learning Management System (LMS) unless they are specifically contracted through a Physician's office.

What is the difference in the "self paced" course and the "instructor led" course?

The "self paced" course does not include an instructor. The student purchases the curriculum and learns how to code on their own with very minimal assistance.

The "instructor led" course includes a Certified Professional Coder that teaches the 16 week course.
Do you all offer payment plans?

When are the classes taught?

For the "instructor led" course, the classes are taught on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00pm until 8:30pm.

For the "self paced" course, the students proceed at their own pace.
What happens if it takes more thatn 16 weeks to complete the "self paced" course?
